Starting at Rs 7.47 lakh for the base Sigma trim and rising up to Rs 13.14 lakh for the top-spec Alpha turbo variant, Maruti Suzuki has unveiled the Fronx.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx will see in India 2024
At a nominal price of Rs 11,000, reservations for the Baleno-based coupe crossover were opened at the January Auto Expo. The Fronx is Rs 86,000 more expensive at launch than the Baleno, but it costs much more at the upper end because it has a turbo-petrol engine as well.
There are four powerplant options available for the Mitsubishi Fronx.

Engines and versions for the Maruti Suzuki Fronx
Arctic White, Earthern Brown, Opulent Red, Splendid Silver, Bluish Black, Celestial Blue, and Grandeur Grey are the seven colours and five trim levels (Zeta, Alpha, Delta, Delta+, Zeta, and Sigma) that are offered for the new Fronx. Earthern Brown, Opulent Red, and Splendid Silver colour options are also offered in dual-tone variations.
Due to limited demand and the switch to BS6, this engine, which was first placed in the Baleno RS back in 2017, was eventually terminated. With a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, the Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine produces 100 horsepower and 147 Nm.

Now that it has a turbo-petrol engine option, the Fronx is the only Maruti Suzuki available for purchase.
Another engine available is a 1.2-liter, naturally aspirated, 90 horsepower petrol engine found in some Maruti vehicles. A 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT automatic gearbox is mated to this powerplant.

External dimensions and design of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx
A few design cues shared by Maruti Suzuki’s flagship Grand Vitara SUV and the Fronx include an upright snout and split headlamps.

A noticeable bend over the rear wheels and a sloping roofline are two further design cues that the Fronx shares with the Baleno hatchback. With respect to size, the Fronx is comparable to the Baleno at 3,995 mm in length, 1,550 mm in height, and 1,765 mm in width.
Inside features and design of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx
A huge, free-standing 9-inch touchscreen is the focal point of the Fronx’s interior design, which is largely reminiscent of the Baleno hatchback. That being said, the colours and textures utilised are distinct from the Baleno. The small SUV’s upholstery is brown and black, while the hatchback’s is blue. The HVAC system is still controlled physically by Maruti, but it also has a multi-layered dashboard.
