Shia LaBeouf Makes a Rare Comeback on the Red Carpet at the Cannes Film Festival for Megalopolis

For the world premiere of the science fiction epic “Megalopolis,” which stars Adam Driver and Aubrey Plaza, the actor was in France. LaBeouf was observed filming Megalopolis in Atlanta a few months later, in November 2022.

The 37-year-old actor attended the French premiere of his latest movie, Megalopolis, where he co-stars with Adam Driver, Aubrey Plaza, Laurence Fishburne, Grace Vander Waal, and Giancarlo Esposito. He was dressed in a tuxedo and had bleached blonde hair.
Francis Ford Coppola, who also attended the film’s premiere, wrote and directed the picture, which is said to as “a Roman epic in an imaginary decadent modern America.”

The festival overview states that Megalopolis is the tale of an idealistic architect and a dishonest mayor who are fighting for power over the fate of New Rome, a crumbling city. In between the two men are “some emblematic characters such as the ones played by” Jon Voight and Shia LaBeouf, who also made an appearance on the red carpet among the cast of the movie.

On February 9, 2020, LaBeouf made his final significant red carpet appearance at the 92nd Academy Awards, where he co-starred with Zack Gottsagen in Peanut Butter Falcon and presented the Oscar for Best Live Action Short Film.

On the Atlanta set of Francis Ford Coppola's monumental film "Megalopolis," Shia LaBeouf was spotted filming.

This is LaBeouf’s first film appearance since he starred in the biopic Padre Pio in 2020. That movie came out a few months before his ex-girlfriend FKA Twigs sued him, claiming he had sexually assaulted her and that he had been subjected to “relentless abuse.”
