Pauly Shore, who is attached to star in Richard Simmons’ biopic, announced on Instagram that he was “up all night crying” in response to Simmons’ ongoing public distancing. Additionally, Simmons disclosed on social media that he is in talks with movie companies about doing his own biopic.
Richard Simmons’ remarks regarding the biopic, Pauly Shore spent the entire night sobbing.
Simmons wrote earlier this week, “I just read that a man that I don’t know is writing my bio pic starring Pauly Shore.” “I don’t think this movie is good. I am in negotiations with major studios to co-write my own biopic. Hold off on seeing this film.
Writer Jordan Allen-Dutton is now developing Shore’s Simmons biopic at Warner Bros. subsidiary The Wolper Organisation; the fitness star is not engaged in the project.
In response, Shore said, “I was up all night crying regarding Richard Simmons’ tweet.” How can you not like this movie, Richard? Really, who better than ME to portray you in a film? There’s no way Leonardo DiCaprio will play you. It’s not going to be Brad Pitt as you. I am flawless. People already believe that I am you. We are identical.
In order to provide some details about the movie he’s developing, Shore wanted to meet with Simmons, reminding him that he hasn’t “even heard the pitch” for Allen-Dutton’s biopic of him.
Shore went on, “I also heard the good news that you’re in talks to do a biopic about yourself with studios.” “Wow, that is incredible! More films centred around you, the better! You’re worthy of it. Hundreds ought to be produced. However, as you are aware, a lot of biopics—including those on Steve Jobs, Stephen Hawking, Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, and many others—are produced without the subjects’ consent.
While some of them had positive outcomes, others had negative ones. Mine will be just amazing. The January news of Shore’s biopic on Simmons broke. In an initial Facebook post, Simmons discussed the project, writing, “You may have heard they may be doing a movie about me with Pauly Shore.”
I never gave this movie my consent. Thus, don’t trust everything you read.
Following the news, Shore went to Park City to premiere the short film “The Court Jester” at the Sundance Film Festival. Shore plays Simmons in the clip.
At the time, Shore said to Variety that his film about Simmons is “all about love,” whether or not the real Simmons approves.

“It has never been spiteful. Borat is not me. I don’t think it’s okay to make fun of others. In fact, the reverse. It’s an unapproved biopic right now, and they’re produced daily, according to Shore. “Yes, I do want him to sprinkle some fairy dust on this and give it his all, Pauly. We don’t wish to bother him.
We would like to honour him by giving him a peck on the feet and congratulating him on his wonderful work.
Regarding his desire to portray Simmons in a biopic, Shore continued, “I relate to him a lot.” “I recently watched an interview where he talked about how he lives alone. He is alone.
He has no relatives or friends. It’s just him. Right now, I can relate to that. My parents are no longer alive. I don’t get along well with my siblings. My spouse and I are single. It’s huge and America when I’m on tour, and when I get home, I’m by myself. I really do feel like I am him. I sense that we share a lot of similarities.
Shore stated to Variety that his goal is to start production on the Simmons biopic as soon as feasible. The film’s production company, The Wolper Organisation, added to its statement in response to Simmons’ public criticism of the picture, “While we would love to have [Simmons] involved, we respect his desire to privacy and plan to produce a movie that honours him, celebrates him, and tells a dramatic story.” Although we are aware of his intense privacy and would never like to intrude, we nevertheless think he is a remarkable man who has altered the lives of millions of people and whose impact on the world must be acknowledged.
