With performance levels comparable to AMD’s Zen 3 cores, a new benchmark result for Huawei’s forthcoming server CPU has surfaced. The CPU was observed on the Geekbench platform, albeit its precise name is currently unknown. But, its performance suggests that Huawei is keeping up with the top CPU producers, such as AMD and Intel.
The CPU under consideration, thought to be the Taishan V120, created by Huawei’s HiSilicon division, operated on the Geekbench platform with a single core. The Kirin 9000s smartphone CPU from Huawei, which was utilised in the Mate 60 series, is where the V120 core initially made its appearance.

Further evidence from the most recent Geekbench 6 result points to the Taishan V120 core being manufactured on the Kirin 9000s-style second-generation 7nm node.
While AMD’s Epyc 7413 and Intel’s Xeon E-2136 scored higher in the single-core benchmark, the Taishan V120 nevertheless managed a respectable 1,527, albeit with a modest performance disadvantage. That being said, it is noticeably less performant than more modern chips from AMD (Epyc 9554) and Intel (Xeon w9-3495X).
The reference to “Huawei Cloud OpenStack Nova” in the test result suggests that the CPU may be a Kunpeng server CPU, probably the 916, 920, or 930. However, the benchmark result does not provide specific information about the CPU.
Given its better single-core performance, Tom’s Hardware tends to believe it to be the Kunpeng 930.
