Expert Review of the MG ZS EV
A mid-size electric SUV is the MG ZS EV. Rivalling the Hyundai Kona Electric, it was one of the first high-end electric SUVs in the nation. Mahindra XUV400 and the new Tata Nexon EV are two other choices that are a little less expensive.
MG has been updating the ZS EV regularly. The stated range in 2020 was 340 km. It increased to 419 kilometres in 2021. Drive
Although torque has decreased to 280 Nm from 353 Nm, power has increased dramatically to 176 PS, up 33 PS from the previous generation. With the increased battery pack, MG hasn’t revealed how much the ZS EV’s weight has changed.
It now feels more balanced and well-behaved, though, and there is a discernible difference in how it manages road imperfections. The ZS EV now has less vertical movement, but it still felt too soft while navigating speed breakers or obstacles. The enhanced body control makes for a more pleasant ride, however you may still feel some side-to-side oscillation on bumpy terrain.
We believe MG might have achieved even better control, though, by sacrificing some of the suspension’s suppleness. In addition to making it more fun in turns, this would have further increased straight-line stability. In the middle of a turn, it may waver over bumps and lose its sharpness and engagement when pressed firmly. Being that the traction control cannot be disabled, it’s not a serious problem. To put it another way, MG has improved the ZS EV formula rather than entirely changing it. It is priced between Rs 22.88 and Rs 25.99 lakh, with the extra range, safety features, and general improvements in the car more than making up for the price rise.
